Several trainees trained under 14 days “Post-Harvest Management, Preservation and Marketing of Fruits & Vegetables Training” from Hooghly, Bankura, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas districts are already involved with front-end as well as back-end management of Sufal Bangla stalls.

Twenty (20) members Mahamaya Sangha of Alipurdwar District attained the 14 days residential training on Fruits and vegetable production in the month of August – September’2015. The group has started their Fruit & Vegetable preservation center at Chengyl, Falakata from September-2016. They have also purchased the utensils and other food processing equipment, which includes one sealing machine, by utilizing the One Time Financial Assistance @ 1.5 lakh provided by NSTIAM as a part of their post training assistance and started using the items in the activities of food preservation at their own unit. Presently the group is exporting Brinjal Pickle to Bhutan. Their pickle has got tremendous demand in the adjacent districts like Jalpaiguri and coochbehar, apart from their home district Alipurduar itself.

Department of Agricultural Marketing provided One Time Financial Assistance of Rs 2.00 Lakh to the Trainee Groups who successfully completed the Training Program on “Low Cost Techniques of Fruit and Vegetable Preservation” in the F.Y 2014-15 and 2015-16. The fund was credited to the bank account of the Trainee Groups. Initially Rs 1.5 Lakh was credited to their account for purchase of Utensils / Equipments for the Food Processing Center. Rest amount of 50.00 thousand was credited to their account after submission of Verification reports from the District Coordinating officers of the Agricultural Marketing Directorate.

Agragati Mahila Sangha, P.O and Village: Khanakul, Hooghly who received One Time Financial Assistance of Rs 2 Lakh provided by Department of Agricultural Marketing in March’ 15 after obtaining training on “Low Cost Techniques of Fruit and Vegetable Preservation” in the month of December’14.

They also have obtained FPO licensing and EM II registration certification in their name in the month of February’ 2015. They have started production of Mango Pickle, including slicing of Raw Mango and preservation of that as a new Initiative after obtaining the training from NSTIAM.

They have also purchased the utensils and equipment, which includes one sealing machine, by utilizing the One Time Financial Assistance and started using the items in the activities of food preservation at their own unit. They are supplying Mango Pudding to Mother Dairy in a better organised way than previous years. The new sealing machine has increased their speed and quality of packaging.

Mahamaya Sangha of Alipurdwar District has started their Fruit & Vegetable preservation center at Chengyl, Falakata from September-2016.

Madhurmilan Sangha of Kumarganj and Nabo Chetana Sangha of Kamarpara, both from Dakshin Dinajpur District have also purchased the required Utensils / Equipments for the Food Processing Center and started their activities from September – 2016 onwards.
