One new Demo-Lab has been developed during April’21 in assistance with RKVY 2017-18 fund with more than 35 machines and equipment related with post-harvest management and processing of fruits and vegetables. This lab is now utilized for demonstration of production of different food products and processed foods to the intended trainees of NSTIAM under different training programs conducted by the Institute. During the F.Y 2022-23, few more processing instruments for spices like Micro pulverizer, Vibratory sieve shaker machine, Batch-number printing machine, Hand-held bottle labeling machine and Ribbon blending machine have added to the basket of the Lab.
With introduction of the new unit, the trainees now can get a practical overview of spice processing, labeling and overall marketing of the spices in addition to obtain clear-cut ideas on different agri-business projects viz: Food processing, preservation of different perishable agri-commodities, packaging, labeling, chips peroration, puffed rice preparation etc under one single umbrella
