The training institute of West Bengal State Agricultural Marketing Board under Department of Agricultural Marketing, Govt. of West Bengal is the only Training
Institute on Agricultural Marketing, in the whole Eastern Region of India. The Institute was inaugurated on 4th April, 2010, and got the affiliation of National Institute of
Agricultural Marketing, Jaipur, as a Sub-Centre Institute of NIAM, Jaipur, on 2nd February, 2011.
Several training programs are being conducted by NSTIAM, Baidyabati, which are mainly funded by RKVY; NAIM, Jaipur and Govt. of West Bengal.
In the last 07 years, a number of trainings have been conducted by the Institute which is related to the Entrepreneurship & skill development in the sector of Agricultural Marketing with special emphasis to Market-led production, post-harvest management and value addition of agricultural produces, mainly focusing to the members of Farm families/FPO/FPC/SHG, selected from different blocks of the State.
Till date the Institute trained 71 batches representing FPO/FPC/SHG (Under 14 days residential training) and 58 batches representing young members of Farm Families (Under 90 days residential training) and by that way, has covered 140 blocks of 22 districts, which is around 41.1% of the total blocks of the State.
