The institute introduced one new training program in the financial year 2016-17 on “Post Harvest Management , Preservation and marketing on Foods & Vegetables “ with the following objectives :

Who are dealing with marketing of Agricultural Produces
The training is conducted as two weeks’ residential course at NSTIAM.
The total training program has been broadly divided into:
a. Theory classes: Duration is of 6 days. Total 24 classes of 1 hour and 30 minutes each is proposed to be conducted in the theory part, which mainly cover the following broad areas:
b. Practical / field classes: Duration is of 8 days. During this time, the trainees will visit one of the following centers, as per availability of the Labs and Practical training facilities:
I. Indian Institute of Packaging, Salt Lake
II. Training and Canning Center, Chinsura, Hooghly
III. Front end material management at different private fruits and vegetable sale counters as well as Govt. of West Bengal
IV. Back end material management at different private fruits and vegetable sale counters as well as Govt. of West Bengal
After completion of the practical classes of each day, trainees will return to NSTIAM.
At the end of the training, each of the groups are preparing one bank linked project either on Marketing of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables or Processing of fruits and vegetables followed by its marketing, for which, Govt. is providing One Time Financial Assistance (OTA) of Rs. 150000/- (rupees one lakh fifty thousand only) per group as front end subsidy in the official account of the group.
Accordingly, 10 Bank Linked Business Development Projects have been developed and submitted by the Trainees of 10 FPOs / FPCs as a part of their Post Training Activities under 14 days Post Harvest Management Training. The detailed list of the Block wise project submitted by the groups and their linked banks are as follows.
Total 187 Trainees selected from different Farmers Producer Companies, Farmers Producer Organizations, Self help Gosthies from 12 blocks of the State undergone the training program in this Financial Year.
